For over 20 years our team has been telling them about the victory coming from Christ's suffering and death for our sins, and they have been experiencing forgiveness by accepting the Mercy of Christ and a true devotion to seeking forgiveness for their sins.
We believe:
Our program begins with spiritual support for those at Marshall County Jail (avg of 110 pop) with our Sunday Service. Prior to the pandemic, we met with the men (25-30 attend) from 9:30 to 10:30am and women (12-18 attend) from 10:30 to 11:30am. Our worship format is structured under “Mass without a Priest’ guidelines from our diocese. We incorporate music with guitar and media streaming into the worship service along with discussion groups following the weekly readings. The service is ended with praise music and “laying on of hands” prayer for those who participate in the prayer line.
During pandemic we deliver the weekly liturgy guide each week in English and Spanish. We receive reports of how God continues to work through His Word, even when we aren’t present. The development of the liturgy guide is evidence that the Lord will work by whatever means you are willing to use to save and love His people. We hope to start up our on-site meetings again very soon.
Deacon Gary ministers to inmates in unbelievable ways and they often share testimonies with him on how the program turned them around, even away from suicide. Forgiveness shines through those who now see the light of hope.
