Is this just individuals or can businesses participate?
Businesses can qualify for annual and lifetime donation levels. Any rewards received can be distributed as the owner/general manager decides; however, it is recommended rewards be distributed to employees as part of incentive programs.
Is this just individuals or can businesses extended families participate?
If extended families wish to participate, it is recommended they set up a memorial for a single family member with one person named as custodian. The custodian would then be responsible for disbursing rewards as the family agreed upon. The Foundation will not manage fractional ownership of annual or lifetime giving accounts.
Can lifetime donation credits be transferred to another individual/entity?
No, how the donation will be credited must be made at the time of the donation.
When are Planned Gifts (Memorials) credited?
Lifetime giving is credited when signed, not when gift “matures”
What credit does Gift in Kind get?
Only gifts-in-kind to building capital campaigns or planned giving are credited. IRA Rollovers, Gifts-of-Grain, etc. are essentially converted to cash when the school receives them and therefore credited. Other types of gifts-in-kind are not eligible.
We also accept direct donations. Funds can be restricted to Local Tuition Assistance, Endowment, Technology, New Construction, and just about anything else. You can also donate unrestricted to our general fund
As an Iowa taxpayer, you can contribute to the Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future School Tuition Organization and receive an Iowa tax credit equal to 65% of your contribution. The amount you contribute qualifies as a charitable donation on your federal tax return as well. To date, donors to the STO have saved more than $11 million on their Iowa Income Taxes. See the STO Web Site for more information.
The St. Francis Guardian brings to mind virtues of angels, knights, caretakers, and others who set aside their own well-being for the sake of others. This sentiment illustrates both the protection we wish to provide our children and the seed of faithful Christian citizenship we plant in their hearts.
What: The St. Francis Capital Endowment Fund guards the School’s mission and vision by providing financial support to improve facilities and education.
How: Only the interest from this fund is distributed so you can be certain your gift will make a difference for many years to come. The interest can only be spent on capital or onetime needs to guarantee the funds are always available to tackle new needs each year. The donors to the Booster Club influence how money is spent. Each year, active Booster Club members vote on capital needs selected by the Booster Club board, Principal, and School Board President. The resulting vote will determine the project(s) to be funded. Your vote helps ensure the interest is spent on what you think is important.
